TT subripper

System Requirements
So what do you need in order to use this program ?
* a PAL DVR-MS file that holds Teletext data (check from within Mediacenter to
see if you can see the subtitles, if you are unsure about this.)
* a utility to cut DVR-MS files that does not discard the data that is on pin2.
This is very important, for example : Videoredo in its current version simply
throws away all data in the second stream as the developers do not understand
this stream.
I have not tested a dozen utilities, but this one works for sure and is freeware
: Cutter.
The interface is still very much MCE2005, so you might try some other utilities.
You only need such a utility if you want to remove commercials or padding, etc.
from your files.
* an installed version of
Graphedit
* The TTsubripper program you download from this page
*
Subripper if you want to make corrections to the timings afterwards.
* A converter program to convert your program into standard MPEG2, WMV, DivX,
XVid, whatever...
AutoDVRconvert is a good one, but there are others too.
Again very important is to have one that preserves the exact time of the
recording, otherwise synchronisation will be lost.
*
Directvobsub or
Mediaplayer Classic, so that you can playback SRT subtitle files together
with your movies, or you might try installing
Mediacontrol, that
way you can play DivX, Xvid, MPEG4, etc. from within Mediacenter.
* The font called "Lucida Teletext 83", if you want to mimic the TT look from
Mediacenter.
The above list is what you need for simply playing your
files on any PC you like with the subtitles displayed on screen.
Of course, you can even do more advanced things like burning a DVD with the
subtitles included, but this is out of scope for this page (ConvertXtoDVD
is a shareware version that does this).
If you require more information about that,
Doom9
has an excellent site about video conversion, DVD ripping, etc.
